Brasserie Memento
PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated 2026-09-18
This page says what personal information this website collects, who receives it, why, and how to say no. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE
This site belongs to Brasserie Memento, 2471 rue Saint-Patrick, Montréal, QC H3K 1B3, part of the A/Maze Entertainment Group. The person in charge of the protection of personal information can be reached at mtl@brasseriememento.com or 514 307-1604, or at the address above.
NOTICE AT COLLECTION — WHAT IS COLLECTED, AND WHEN
When you simply read a page
The tracking tags listed in the next section load. Between them they can record the page you opened, when, roughly where you are (from your IP address), your browser and device, how you arrived, and an identifier stored in your browser that lets the same visitor be recognised on a later visit. We see this as aggregate statistics; the companies that run the tags receive it directly. Our web host also keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses.
When you send us an enquiry or subscribe
The form asks for your name, e-mail address and telephone number, the date and the number of guests, the kind of event, and whatever you write in the message. A brewery-tour enquiry can also carry an alternate date, a preferred time and language, allergies or dietary needs, accessibility needs, and whether the tour is part of a larger event. A newsletter sign-up is an e-mail address and nothing else. Everything is optional in the sense that you can simply not send the form; the fields marked required are the ones we need to answer you.
To stop automated spam, the form counts how many messages have come from your network address in the last ten minutes. The address itself is not stored: it is turned into a one-way hash used as a filename, and only the times are kept. Your address is not written into the e-mail we receive and not into our enquiries spreadsheet.
When you buy a gift card or book a tour
Those two pages carry a booking and payment window operated by Off The Couch. What you type into that window — including your payment details — goes to them, not to us. We never see or store a card number. Their own privacy policy governs it.
When you play the film on the home page
The film is a YouTube embed. It is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, which means YouTube sets nothing until you press play; once you do, Google receives the request and its own policy applies.
THE TRACKERS, BY NAME
These load on every page of this site, including this one.
| Tag | Identifier | Operated by | What it does | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Tag Manager | GTM-M7VFDM8N | Loads and manages the other tags on this site. | Read | |
| Google Analytics 4 | G-W7LGGFR96Y | Counts visits and shows us which pages are read. | Read | |
| Meta Pixel | 553503253057296 | Meta Platforms | Measures our Facebook and Instagram advertising, and can be used to show ads to people who have visited this site. | Read |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag | 5812682 | LinkedIn (Microsoft) | Measures our LinkedIn advertising, and can be used to show ads to people who have visited this site. | Read |
WHY WE USE IT
To answer an enquiry and organise the event it is about. To send the newsletter to people who asked for it. To understand which pages are read, so the site gets better. To measure our advertising on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and to show advertising to people who have already visited this site. We do not sell personal information.
The advertising tags profile visitors in the ordinary advertising sense — they build an audience from people who have been here. Nothing on this site makes an automated decision about you, and no profile is used to set a price or refuse a booking.
WHO RECEIVES IT, AND WHERE IT GOES
An enquiry is e-mailed to our own inbox and a copy of the same fields is written to a private spreadsheet we keep for that purpose. Both run on Google's services. The tracking companies above receive what their tags collect, directly from your browser. Our booking and gift-card vendor receives what you type into its window.
That means personal information is stored and processed outside Québec, including in the United States, where the law protecting it is not the same as here. We ask you to keep that in mind before writing anything sensitive in a message field.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
An enquiry stays in our inbox and our spreadsheet for as long as we need it to answer you, run your event and keep an ordinary business record of it. A newsletter address stays until you ask to come off the list. The tracking companies keep what they collect for their own periods, set in their own policies. Ask us to delete your details and we will.
HOW TO OPT OUT
This site does not currently show a cookie banner, so the tags load when a page opens. These are the ways to stop them, and they work today:
- Your browser. Blocking or clearing third-party cookies and site data stops most of this, and every major browser can do it — Safari and Firefox block much of it by default. A private window keeps nothing after you close it.
- Google Analytics: Google's own opt-out add-on turns it off on every site you visit. tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Meta: your ad preferences and off-Facebook activity settings control what the pixel is allowed to feed. facebook.com/adpreferences/ad_settings
- LinkedIn: the guest retargeting opt-out stops the Insight Tag being used to target you. linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out
- Or write to us. Ask us at mtl@brasseriememento.com to take you off the newsletter, to delete an enquiry you sent, or to tell you what we hold, and we will do it.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to withdraw a consent you gave, and to receive it in a portable computerised format. Write to the address in the first section; we answer within thirty days.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec
CHILDREN
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 14. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.
CHANGES TO THIS PAGE
If we add a tracker or start using your information for something new, this page changes first and the date at the top changes with it.
